The aerstent® TBY (Y-Carina Stent) is a self-expanding nitinol airway stent engineered by Leufen Medical (a bess group company, Germany) for advanced interventional pulmonology. Designed for malignant and benign stenoses involving the tracheal carina and both main bronchi, the TBY features an anatomically correct Y-shaped design that restores airway patency while maintaining ventilation to both lungs. Its durable partial silicone covering, improved weaving pattern and enhanced delivery system provide physicians with greater control when treating complex bifurcation lesions.

How Placement Works:
The aerstent® TBY is supplied pre-mounted on an improved Over-The-Wire (OTW) delivery system with a working length of 600 mm. The delivery system is designed to provide greater control when navigating the complex anatomy of the tracheal bifurcation.
The procedure is performed using two guide wires—one positioned in each main bronchus—to ensure accurate alignment of the Y-shaped stent. Six radiopaque tantalum markers allow excellent visibility under fluoroscopy, helping physicians position the stent precisely within the carina while maintaining airflow to both bronchial branches.
Improved insertion system
For implantation of the Y-Carina stent, we recommend rigid intubation using a tracheoscope or bronchoscope with an inner diameter of at least 10 mm
Y Carina stents are available in the tracheal portion with diameters of 16 to 20 mm.
