The aerstent® TBS (Trachea-Bronchus Stent) is a self-expanding nitinol stent engineered by Leufen Medical (a bess group company, Germany) for interventional pulmonology. Designed for both malignant and benign airway obstructions, the TBS combines a full silicone barrier with a high-force nitinol frame to hold the airway open reliably, while minimizing trauma to surrounding tissue.

How Placement Works:

The stent ships pre-mounted on a reloadable delivery system with a working length of 600 mm. Because the delivery system allows the stent to be drawn back in and redeployed, the physician can fine-tune positioning during the procedure rather than committing to a single placement attempt; a meaningful safety margin in narrow or distorted airways.
The silicone coating extends slightly past the stent’s metal ends, adding stability at the tissue interface and reducing the granulation tissue response that can develop around bare stent ends.
